The MRCVE Artists Group was founded in 2002. The groups modus operandi is to openly incorporate both scientific and artistic methods in its works. During its years of operation, it has performed in Europe and United States in addition to various single events in Finland. The State of the Nation I-III series has been presented in Helsinki, Malmö (Sweden), New York (US) and Berlin (GER). MRCVE has also collaborated with German artist Johnny Amore in two projects: 7 for the Price of 1 (a performance tour in Germany and the Netherlands 2010) and Operation Neuschwanstein (Germany 2008). Research results that group has collected have been published as a book and videos.
During performances, which exploit the traditions of scientific presentation and performance art, the groups research projects take an artistic form as lectures transformed into theatrical spectacles. Documentations of these projects are realized through experimental media art. In a video screening, a viewer can find oneself part of a performance as images turn into flesh.

Die portugiesische Sängerin, Komponistin, Gitarristin und Lyrikerin Lula Pena folgt nur ihren eigenen Regeln – in ihrer Musik wie auch in ihrer Karriere. Nur zwei Alben hat sie seit 1998 veröffentlicht, aber damit etwas Seltenes erreicht: sie hat eine treue Fangemeinde in der ganzen Welt, die mit jeder ihrer seltenen und intensiven Auftritte weiter wächst.
Lula Penas Stimme ist tief bewegend, ihr Gitarrenstil eigen, ihr Ansatz sowohl hoch emotional wie auch konzeptionell. Sie hat eine fast schamanenhafte Art, mit ihrer Gitarre komplett zu verschmelzen, wenn sie eines ihrer langen Stücke spielt und Holz, Saiten, Worte, der menschliche Körper, Atem und Stimme allesamt in ein übernatürlich Ganzes gleiten.
Wie ein lebender Organismus ist Lulas Musik. Sie segelt auf einem absonderlichen Ozean, umgeben von Grenzen, die sich Folk, Blues, Flamenco, französischer Chanson, Phado (so buchstabiert sie selbst das Wort), Bossa Nova oder anders nennen. All diese streift sie, lässt aber keine davon intakt so wie zuvor bestehen.
Das neue Album Archivo Pittoresco, das am 27.01.2017 bei Crammed Discs veröffentlicht wird, ist wie eine Reflektion über Lula Penas inspirierte Streifzüge durch die Welt: die dreizehn Stücke auf dem Album fließen nahtlos ineinander über, gesungen in Portugiesisch, Französisch, Englisch, Spanisch, Griechisch oder Italienisch mit Texten von Autoren wie Lula selbst sowie Manos Hadjidakis, Violeta Parra, dem belgischen Surrealisten Scutenaire oder den Komponisten des Original-Twilight
Zone-Soundtracks und vielen weniger bekannten oder anonymen Autoren.
